Buckler's Hard, Hampshire was founded by John, 2nd duke of Montagu, in the early 18th century.
 
The book is about a part of his Estate that produced & launched many fine vessels for both war & trade, going back in history to the early 18th/late 19th century. A delightful little book of 43 pages, with several photo plates, complete with a map of the location in 1750. 

Beige cover with black title. Lightly rubbed cover with tiny bump at few corner tips. About 8 x 5-1/2 with 43 pages. Photographic illustrations. Light to moderate foxing. Scarce!
