Thomas Babington Macaulay, 1st Baron Macaulay, was a British historian and Whig politician. He wrote extensively as an essayist, on contemporary and historical sociopolitical subjects, and as a reviewer. He served as the Secretary at War between 1839 and 1841 and as the Paymaster-General between 1846 and 1848.

 

Brown blind stamped cloth cover with blind & faded gilt spine title and yellow endpapers. Rubbed & lightly soiled stained cover with small fray at spine head & corner tips. Light to moderate foxing. About 7-1/2 x 5 with 460 pages plus ads.
