Full calf with gilt title over black spine swatch (Davies' Legendre) and all edges marbled. The book is divided into several BOOK sections. Inscribed by the original owner (student) in pencil at the front free endpaper with an 1862 date. And there's a tiny, slightly obscured store sticker at the inside front corner (undoubtedly where the original owner purchased it in Huntingdon, PA). The front cover is loose and still attached. Moderate heavy cover edge and corner wear with a chip at the spine head. And there is heavy wear at the inside covers. Secure light to moderately rippled text block pages (else good) with clean pages, just mild foxing (except at the ends) and some pages creases. About 8 1/4 x 5 1/4. Scarce Civil War era science/mathematics text book in fair condition.
