Ade, a Hoosier who cut his teeth in Chicago journalism alongside Eugene Field and Finley Peter Dunne, was a popular humorist in his day but is now largely forgotten. He specialized in slangy stories and ironic fables.
Light brown with black border & title and floral accents with green to front. Top edge gilt. Nice overall with mild soiling and light wear to extremities. Illustrated.
