Red two-volume set with finely tooled gilt floral decorated bindings and the original red with gilt spine title jacket. It also includes the original protective slipcase. This is a rare set that was presented (Christmas) by Mr. Stanford Newel (with his card) and a date of 1906 (on the inside cover of both volumes). He was a United States Ambassador (Plenipotentiary) to Luxembourg and the Netherlands. About 8 x 5-1/2 with 273 and 275 plus a map. Illustrated. Rare!
