Robert Green Ingersoll (1833–1899) was an American lawyer, writer, and orator during the Golden Age of Free Thought, who campaigned in defense of agnosticism. He was nicknamed "The Great Agnostic".

 

Agnosticism is the view or belief that the existence of God, of the divine or the supernatural is unknown or unknowable. Another definition provided is the view that "human reason is incapable of providing sufficient rational grounds to justify either the belief that God exists or the belief that God does not exist.

 

Light blue with dark blue spine title. Nice condition overall with mild cover wear and a very light damp stain to bottom front corner. Secure binding and clean pages. Soiled jacket in clear protected cover with small chips and creases. Scarce with jacket!
