First Immanuel Lutheran Church has the distinction of being the oldest Swedish Lutheran Church on the West Coast (Portland, Oregon) founded in 1879. In 1909, the church founded Emanuel Hospital with the leadership of Pastor
Carl J. Renhard. The Oregon Synod Lutheran offices remain at the hospital site to this day.
Quarter leather with five raised bands on spine & gilt title & pebbled cloth boards. 7-1/2 x 5 with 377 pages plus ad. Rubbing at spine ends and lightly to edges & corner tips. Small original bookplate at pastedown and owner name in pencil with 1892 date. Nice secure binding with clear text.Written in Swedish. Scarce!
