Oliver Goldsmith (1728-1774) was an Irish novelist, playwright and poet, who is best known for his novel The Vicar of Wakefield, his pastoral poem The Deserted Village, and his plays The Good-Natur'd Man and She Stoops to Conquer. He is thought to have written the classic children's tale The History of Little Goody Two-Shoes.
Half leather with marbled boards & edges. Gilt decorated spine with gilt title over red & black swatch. Heavily rubbed boards and rubbed corner tips and some to edges. Nice text block with clean pages. 7-1/2 x 5 with 382 pages.
