Rev. Frederick A. Houck, a well-published author who began writing as a student at St. Mary's Seminary. Wrote the "Life of St. Gerlach" as a theology student and revised it 50 years later. Other books authored by Father Houck included "Our Palace Wonderful," "Fountains of Joy," and "Man's Triumph With God in Christ."


The Palace Beautiful or The Spiritual Temple of God (1943) is a sequel to Our Palace Wonderful. The book covers latent powers and infused virtues of the soul in the process of development.
