Margaret Wolfe Hungerford, née Hamilton, (1855–1897), was an Irish novelist whose light romantic fiction was popular throughout the English-speaking world in the late 19th century. Her books were first published anonymously, and later as by "Mrs. Hungerford". In the United States, her books were mostly published under the pen name "The Duchess".

Pebbled black with pasted blue & white cover title label. Firm binding with clean, unmarked, light age toned text and tiny punch mark through cover & front text, that gradually & totally disappears on page 59, otherwise would be very good. Shelf wear & one tip fray.
