Salammbô is a historical novel by Gustave Flaubert. It is set in Carthage immediately before and during the Mercenary Revolt. Flaubert's principal source was Book I of the Histories, written by the Greek historian Polybius.

 

Brown cover with gilt, black and brown cover art, and brown and black highly decorated endpapers. Secure binding with clean pages, a very light top spine shift, top corner tip cover bump, and some inner binding cracks (otherwise good). About 9-1/2 x 6-1/2 with 338 pages. Illustrated.
