Chiefly remembered today for his Confessions of an English Opium-Eater (1821); De Quincey oeuvre includes literary criticism, poetry, and a large selection of reviews, translations and journalism. His private correspondence and diary has also been published.


Black or dark brown (sun faded) cloth with a paper spine title. Secure binding with clean pages, some mild fading to cover with few small edge frays and owner notes at front free endpaper. Lightly bumped corner tips. About 7 x 5 with 251 pp. and many ads. Some front & rear pages uncut. Undated circa 1900, with Oct '03 date at front endpaper. Scarce!
