Sheila Kaye-Smith (1887–1956) was an English writer, known for her many novels set in the borderlands of Sussex & Kent in the English regional tradition. Her early novels were chiefly pre-occupied with rural life in Sussex & Kent. They focused on farming, land inheritance, agricultural mechanisation and changing women's roles in rural life. She went on to write over 40 books.
Light blue cover with gilt spine title & fancy light green & white decorated endpapers. 7-3/4 x 5 with 293 pages. Jacket with clear protective cover has a few tiny edge tears & mild soil. Scarce with nice jacket!
