Green cover with gilt spine title, black front border, and brown endpapers. The cover is HEAVILY surface wormed with some minor worming at the free endpaper (front/rear). Secure text block with a gutter crack at the rear inside joint. About 10-1/4 x 6-3/4 with 200 pages. Illustrated. Fancy cursive inscription at the bottom of the frontispiece illustration with name, date, and location of Charles Wister (undoubtedly by his son, the author). This rare Civil War era book is in fair condition due to the cover.
