Dark brown blind-stamped cover with a gilt spine title. Secure binding with clean pages and mild foxing at the endpapers. The cover is lightly rubbed with frays and tears at the spine ends and corners. About 9 1/2 x 6 with 540 pages and 575 pages (with few uncut pages). 1856 Christmas date inscription from a husband to his wife at the front free endpaper (on both volumes). Rare!
