Allan J. Pinkerton (1819–1884) was a Scottish-American detective and spy, best known for creating the Pinkerton National Detective Agency.
 
Softcover with a 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 triangular chip near the front bottom spine edge and a smaller one at the bottom, with a large front bottom corner crease. And a new piece of archival tape at the spine edge. Inside spine covering is partially re-glued. Text block is secure with clean pages and just slightly shaken and unmarked. Fair condition. Rare.
