Camille Saint-Saëns (1835-1921) is now most well-known for The Carnival of the Animals, a piece made up of 14 movements, each exploring a different animal (including lions, tortoises and kangaroos). He saw the work as a chance to have some fun, playing with different instruments to represent the animals. One of the most popular movements is the 13 th movement, Le Cygne (The Swan), which is written for two Saint-Saëns pianos and a cello.
