Book about Marine animals, fishes, etc. Entertaining and educational anecdotes about fish and why they're called what they're called. It's no more than 3 pages per fish so it's easily digestible for kids. But the real gem are the 1935 illustrations: each fish is paired with an actual drawing of it, and a drawing of what it was named for. For example, elephant fish on the left, with an elephant on the right. At the end of the book there are questions & activities for 4th/5th grade teachers.

Wilfrid Swancourt Bronson was an American natural history artist and a "prolific writer and illustrator of children's books on various aspects of animal life".

Light orange cover with dark blue title & cover art and color art endpapers. Nice condition with light wear and a very mildly sunned spine, and a few very mild corner page creases with a small tear to the top of one of the Introduction pages. Scarce children's hardcover book.
